Uzbekistan sends 169 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

AKIPRESS.COM – Another batch of humanitarian aid from Uzbekistan departed from Termez to Balkh province in Afghanistan on April 25, the administration of Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan reported.

The aid included 48 tons of flour, 48 tons of wheat, 15 tons of vegetable oil, more than 10,000 canned meat, 24 tons of sugar, 22 tons of pasta and 100,000 packages of instant noodles.

The handover ceremony took place at the Astras company in Hairatan. It was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Erkin Khamrayev, head of Surkhandarya Ulugbek Kosimov, Governor of Balkh Province Muhammad Yusuf Vafo and other official representatives of the two countries.

“Officials of Balkh province expressed gratitude to the president and the people of Uzbekistan for the help they are providing during this difficult time,” the administration said in a statement.
